An overview of the Scrum Framework

Scrum is a single-team process framework used to manage product development.

The best resource to learn Scrum is the Scrum Guide. It’s a concise guide and will take you less than 2 hours to read. Please read the Scrum Guide first and then read the following section for additional details that you need for the exam.


Empiricism is the idea that the best way of planning is to do the work and learn from it. It is a fundamental for Scrum and agile approaches.

Empirical process is not easy and requires the scrum master to coach the scrum team on breaking down work, describing clear outcomes and reviewing those outcomes.

Empirical Process Control

Empirical Process Control is style of work used in agile that leverages the principles of:

  • Transparency
  • Inspection
  • Adaptation

These are also known as the three pillars of empirical process control.
