What Our Students Say

From verified BrainBOK customers

PMBOK Guide and BrainBOK Premium subscription were the only things I used to pass my PMP exam. The ITTO tool is neat and quite innovative, the quizzes are extremely useful and the mock exams invaluable — well designed to get a feel for the real thing, if slightly harder.

Passed PMP®
I usually don't leave reviews but this program is fantastic! I passed my CAPM way above target! BrainBOK's exams are way harder than the actual test and their ITTO and quizzes are the perfect combination to be more than ready for the actual exam!

Passed CAPM® — Above Target
BrainBOK Premium was the only resource I used apart from the PMBOK Guide. I passed my exam today with Above Target in all categories. The absolute best part is the explanation and page reference for every exam question for further review.

I took and passed my PMP exam on the first try! BrainBOK really helped me to understand how all of the processes were related. Prior to finding your site, I could not visualize the inflows and outflows. BrainBOK really helped get me through that hurdle.

Passed PMP® — First Attempt
I used this program to complete my CAPM a few years ago and came back when it was time to get my PMP — I passed with 4 Proficients and 1 Moderately Proficient! Your tools are beyond compare with anything else out there.

I can say for sure that using Rita's guide only would have resulted in a fail and that BrainBOK was the difference between a pass and a fail. I passed the CAPM exam with Above Target!

The IITO section alone in this website will help you get minimum 30 questions right on your PMP exam, Which makes it one of the Key tools for your PMP preparation. The best feature I like is that once you click on an ITTO it shows which all process groups have those as Inputs or outputs so that you can draw dependencies on a sheet of paper and help you understand the relation on which ITTO goes where. I highly recommend this site as I don't think I would have passed PMP without this tool as every question counts towards the scoring. And Its FREE :) unlike any other valuable resource on the web Best of luck to every PMP aspirant. Best Regards Akshay,MBA, PMP

The flashcards were very helpful, and pushed me to remember answers as multiple choice format does not: I have to supply the answer rather than choose from the 4 possibilities as on the exam. The flashcards provided another helpful format to study tools. Screen layout for the quiz is also helpful, with the inputs/tools & techniques/outputs for that process display below the correct answer; this provides immediate reinforcement. Like Emma below, should have used BrainBOK sooner but it did help and I have already recommended it to others. Thanks BrainBOK people!

I have been studying for two weeks to pass my CAPM. I have used the Prep Cast information and The BRAINBOK! The support is excellent and the content is excellent. The quiz bot is great, the addtional math section is wonderful. The more they add the better it will get. The ITTO work is the best I found anywhere. I didnt memorize any, just worked with BRAINBOK!! This is worth every penny and it does nto cost much more than that. Great Idea, Great Site, for me, great Result! Craig, CAPM

Hi Harwinder, one suggestion i have on flash card are - you can display the PMBOK reference (either page or section number) for explanations so that people who searches relevant information in book will identify it without any issue.

Hello Babou, that's an excellent suggestion. We already have that feature on the to-do list, and the data is also ready. It's just waiting in the queue for its turn. About 30% cards have no reference in the PMBOK Guide, but we'll try to put links to other websites and resources wherever possible. Thanks for bringing this up. Keep your ideas flowing.

After taking course for required 35 hrs of education, reading through PMBOK 4th edition, Rita's exam prep book a few times, I still failed my attempt at the PM Exam. It was suggested by a fellow student who passed the exam that we use your BrainBOK. What a difference it made in my comprehension and understanding! The format and descriptions included so readily all on the same page (screen). Well, at my second attempt this morning I passed the Exam!!! Thank you very much for putting this information out there for us to utilize. It is the best $19.99 I ever spent!! Most appreciatively, D. R. Manchester

Hello D. R., Congratulations on passing the exam! The success must be even sweeter to you, since you passed it in the second attempt. I can imagine the relief and satisfaction that you must be experiencing right now. Regarding your comments, could we have asked for more? Could there be a more genuine and heart-felt appreciation from a customer? You have spent $19.99 to buy the tool, but we could not have spent a million dollars and get as much happiness and encouragement, as we got from your comments. It suddenly makes all the hard-work and effort seem worthwhile. Reminds me of the Mastercard tagline - there are some things that money can't buy ... We wish you all the best for future. Thank you so much for making us a part of your success.

I passed the PMP exam on October 4, 2011 and the BrainBOK ITTO Explorer was one the important tools that supported my exam preparation. I used the ITTO Explorer as a quick reference tool to reinforce my understanding of what inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs work with each of the 42 PMP processes. Understanding this information is key to passing the PMP exam. The ITTO Explorer servered as a handy reference tool when I was reviewing questions that I missed on practice exams. I highly recommend using this tool in your preparation for the PMP exam.

I heard about this site from PMHUB and hence tried using it. It is one of the best online resource for the people preparing for PMP. I found ITTOs, Flashcard, quiz extremely useful. You may want to add more flash cards for each of the knowledge and process areas.

Hello Sarita, Thanks so much for your encouraging words. Since you are using the Basic account, you have access to only 150 flashcards. If you upgrade to the Premium account, you'll get access to additional ~1500 flashcards. These flashcards cover almost every term that you can expect to see on the PMP exam. Keep your suggestions coming. We design the tool according to your requirements. So, do not hesitate to tell us how you want the tool to be enhanced to better meet your needs. Thanks again for your feedback.

Thanks for adding new feature when we can evaluate earlier exams. BrainBOK is a very good portal, well designed and with all required features. Nice to see that it's just free. Important thing is that it's without any much advertisements. Keep it up BrainBOK Team. All the best and thanks.

Hello Neerali, Thank you for the comments and feature suggestion. It was your email that prompted us to increase the priority on that much needed feature. I must say that it's a really good value-add to the application. Last week we added a new Exam Report too. Right now these features may not sound too compelling, but the true power will become apparent when full 200-question PMP and 150-question CAPM exams are released. We used to carry advertisements on the Basic (free) account when we started, but soon decided against it. We thought it was better to delight the users with the best experience, rather than to pester them with ads. Happy and satisfied users are more likely to upgrade to Premium account and recommend the application to others. So the decision wasn't difficult. Thanks again.

It was really nice until few days back when the complete access to braikBOK was available for free of cost. For some reason, portal owners restricted it now only to Integration & Scope Management knowledge areas. No doubt, it's a great tool for PMP aspirants.

      BrainBOK AdminImported
Hello Srinivasa, Thanks for your feedback. The simple and honest answer is that we would have loved to keep it free, but it wasn't feasible anymore. The ITTO Explorer is undoubtedly the best part of BrainBOK. It was free for almost a year, until last week. By keeping it free, we were attracting huge number of free users, and increasing our costs. At the same time, we were reducing the incentive for users to upgrade. Therefore, we had to limit the free access. Thanks for your understanding and support.

I passed my PMP last November. Brainbok helped me a lot. It allowed me to revise my knowledge. The Flashcards and ITTOs are very well organized and allows the flexibility of choosing the method of review. I will not hesitate to recommend it to who wants to take the exam or who want to be familiar with the project management processes. It is a perfect tool for revision and understanding. One advantage is that there is a free version to test knowledge before deciding to subscribe. I will recommend subscribing because it was the most complete version. Good luck. Brainbok gave me the details of the project groups, made it easier for me to remember the varous tools and their application in various processes. The flashcards are of thorough and easy to browse and study. The various modules in Brainbok allowed me to consolidate my studies and helped with my approach to their Mock exams, which were tough for me initially, until I mastered the material in the ITTO. The formula section was excellent also. Overall, Brainbok is highly recommended for any serious PMP applicant having serious difficulties with the PMBoK guide 4th Edition. I wish I had registered sooner last year, after my contact hours were completed. Thanks Brainbok.

See the following question: Activity Cost Estimates are an Input to all the Following Processes Except? Develop Project Management Plan Plan Procurements Identify Risks Determine Budget The answer is "Develop Project Management Plan " in your ITTO. But infact Develop Project management Plan has "outputs from planning process as input" . That means Activity Cost Estimate which is a output of Estimate Costs is also an input for "Develop Project Management Plan" So there is no ccorrect answer to this. Can you please comment on this. Thanks Naveen

Here is a question in Brainbok ITTO quiz: Activity Cost Estimates are an Input to all the Following Processes Except? A. Develop Project Management Plan B. Plan Procurements C. Identify Risks D. Determine Budget According to your ITTO Quiz. The answer to this A. Develop Project Management Plan But what are the inputs for Development Project Management plan? Project Charter, Outputs from planning Process<--which means Activity Cost Estimate goes in as an input here (Activity Cost Estimate is an output from Estimate Costs process, which essentially is a planning process) So from my point of view there is no correct answer to this. Can you please comment on this. Thanks Naveen

BrainBOK created by Harwinder is really amazing. It helped me a lot. Most amazing part is it will works on iPhone/iPAD even thought it takes bit time to load. I used it while commuting to office. I used mostly the Flashcards. Also it's appearance is nice & neat, not overloaded with Ads. Exam simulator is very good even though the exam is slightly tough comparing to other mock exams.

      BrainBOK AdminImported
Hello Mrinmoy, Thanks for your wonderful comments. All your observations are accurate. BrainBOK does take longer to load on the mobile, especially on 3G. It is primarily because 3G / mobile broadband is not as fast or reliable as home broadband. Moreover phone hardware cannot be compared to that of notebooks and desktops. Your comment on the exam is also accurate. Most people fail our PMP exam on the first attempt. Recently one person scored 95 (out of 175) on our exam, and passed the real PMP exam within the next 36 hours. Now that we have data from past 3 months, we are in a position to assess the difficulty in an objective manner, and may be adjusting it slightly. Thanks again for your comments.

BrainBOK was the only tool I paid for to prepare for the CAPM exam. I read (and reread) the PMBOK, and read a few books from the library on preparing for the PMP. But, the BrainBOK tool was the one I used most consistently. Just using a browser, I was able to easily review flashcards on my Android phone. I used the flashcards to study when I had a few minutes of downtime when out and about. And, I practiced the various quiz configurations over and over. The new data flows were helpful in reinforcing what I learned in the PMBOK. I am glad that I upgraded to the premium account. I would definitely recommend BrainBOK!

I passed my PMP early this month. I got to know about late in my preparation but then whatever remaining time was left I spent most with Brainbok and I found it extremely useful especially after reading books multiple times, there is a need to apply, assess and ascertain the concepts in some structured format and BrainBok offers a very sophistcated way to test the knowledge and reinforce the concepts. The tool is well strctured and organized, I have no doubt that if tool is used in right logical order consistently then success is assured. I would suggest to offer an offline version as well, especially for users behind firewall and there are many. I would definitely recommend BrainBOK and mentioned it on my PMP lesson learnt blog (http://mypmpll.blogspot.in/) under "What To Do" for PMP prep. I found your website by chance a few days before I was due to take the exam. I can't recommend Brainbok highly enough! Before I discover Brainbok I had been studying using various books and some online resources. None of these match up to your website in terms of content and price. The Brainbok practice PMP exam was well worth the money, its very tough and certainly prepares you for the exam. Anybody thinking of taking the PMP exam should use the PMBOK, sign up as a PMI member (as there are lots of online resources available for members) and definitely use Brainboks tools, resources, and practice exams and you should be well prepared for the exam.

I just failed my CAMP exam ... earning very similar results in the real exam compared to the simulated exam. I incorrectly hoped the real exam would be a little easier. I also assumed that ITTOs wouldn't play such a big part of the exam, but it's pretty much ALL ITTOs. There are lots of stories about people passing the exam and thanking Brainbok for it, but I thought it might be valuable to someone studying for the exam to know that the exam here seems to be pretty accurate despite not being a formal/official PMI test. If you fail here, you are likely to fail the test. I went into the exam unprepared because I'm super busy with projects and feared I wouldn't get in to write my exam before the PMBOK5 changeover. Classic fast-tracking risk: running too many things in parallel! I might try again but wanted to share my experience. Even though it didn't work out for me, there are valuable lessons learned I wanted to share.

Hi Rick, I'm very sorry to hear about your result. We interacted a few days ago, and you gave us some amazing feedback for improving our content. You came off as a really intelligent person and I'm somewhat surprised at your result. Though you did not pass our mock exam, you were not too far off. I thought that with another week of preparation, you would have been able to get through. The exam change is still couple months away. Book your next appointment immediately and give it another shot. I'm pretty sure that with a couple more weeks of preparation, you'll make it. I sincerely thank you for sharing your experience, despite not being able to clear the exam. Not many would have returned to leave a positive review in your situation. In that regard, your review is truly amazing. I wish you all the best for the next attempt. Best regards.

I passed my CAPM exam on my first attempt yesterday and I must give credit where credit is due. This application really helped me fortify the ITTOs and definitions, which were critical in the exam. I tried to do about 50 quiz questions per day for the last 2 weeks before the exam. Also the mock exam really helped on areas that I needed to focus on. Overall I had a great experience with Brainbok. Its great if you work fulltime to do the quiz and flashcards during lunch or on spare time. I would recommend this to anyone who is attaining their CAPM.

I just passed my CAPM exam today! Thanks Brainbok! I did some "traditional" studying with the PMBOK text, but I used Brainbok for about the last month of intensive studying and it really improved my understanding the ITTOs. I must have done 50-60 quiz questions a day during little pockets of free time, plus the mock CAPM exam when I got close to the real exam. I thought Brainbok's CAPM mock exam was actually harder than the real exam - which I guess turned out to be a good thing! I also found the formulas list by Brainbok helpful. Anyway, I highly recommend this product! I have no prior project management experience and passed based on only reading the PMBOK and using Brainbok to cement ideas after reading the book. Thanks again!

I took and passed the CAPM yesterday. I found Brainbok very helpful in my studies and used the ITTO explorer and flashcards quite a bit to help prepare for the exam. The explorer is the best tool out there for seeing how the ITTOs relate to each other. I would recommend Brainbok to others, but like anything, I would not rely on it exclusively. I took a live online prep course, did a ton of questions through PMPerfect, and used Rita's CAPM book for further review. I don't think I would have passed without using a variety of materials and resources to prepare for the exam.

Took the CAPM today and cleared it at the first go. Brainbok was extremely helpful in understanding the ITTOs and the interaction between the different knowledge areas and process groups. I would highly recommend at least one read of the PMBok (Its not most fun book to read and follow but its a bitter pill one needs to take in order to be better prepared for the exam). Understanding the ITTOs is a must, and yes, repetitive as it may sound, please do NOT memorize the ITTOs, use logic and all will fall into place !. Best luck to all preparing for this exam.

If you take Brainbok and a traditional study guide as your input, expert knowledge as a tool, your output will be PMP certification. I passed on Monday and scored really well (proficient in four out of five areas, moderately proficient in the fifth). Brainbok's ITTO flow allowed me to remember the inputs, tools and outputs that made sense when I read and reread the study guides, but that I struggled to remember when I quizzed myself. The flashcards were also really helpful in covering a lot of the definitions you need to know for the exam. I spent my whole last day before the exam (about 12 - 14 hours) reviewing all of the flashcards and looking up my gaps using other resources.

However, not many people harness its full potential. Glad to hear that you found it useful.

Hello Sathya, Thanks for your comments. Can you clarify whether you are using the "Free" subscription or the "Paid" subscription, and which particular module (Exam or Quiz) you are referring to? We offer a total of 4 exams. If you are using the "Free" subscription, and referring to the "Exam" module, then you have access to only the "Mastering PMBOK Guide 5" exam, which has exactly 100 questions in the pool. If you take that exam multiple times, the questions shown to you will come from the same pool of 100 questions, and you would see repetition. We are constantly working on adding more content. If you are referring to the "Quiz" module, then the "Free" subscription gives you access to Process and ITTO Quizzes only, and 2 out of 10 Knowledge Areas only (i.e. a total of 12 out of 47 processes and about 130 out of 618 ITTOs). The questions in the "Quiz" are not hard-coded, but randomly generated by our Quiz engine, which is designed to be intelligent. However, with the "Free" version, the engine has a limited set of data to work with. Even then, the chances of the exact same question repeating are very slim, but it's possible that you may see "similar" looking questions if you attempt the Quiz repeatedly. If you want to experience the full potential of BrainBOK, I would highly recommend that you subscribe to the paid version (if you haven't already done so). You can easily save at least 2-4 weeks of your preparation time, and I'm sure that you would agree that even couple hours of a Project Manager's time is worth more than $50! Thanks again for your comments and bringing up this important point. Do not hesitate to give us more feedback. We welcome all constructive feedback. If you do not highlight our weaknesses, we may not get to know them at all. Good luck for your exam!

I passed my PMP exams . It was really a great experience .. I took the brain book mock exam practice in the last few weeks and gave a good practice handle tough questions and lot of complex ones. the mock exam is quite tough and really helped to stretch the limits. Though the real has a mix of high complex one and medium ones. If you are not lucky, you may end up getting highly discriptive ones and may end up eating up huge time , just to understand the question. . It is a must to read the PMBOK top to bottom and between the lines too. I had huge difficult to memorize the ITTO , Only the critical ones could be remembers and most of them i tried to link based on the context and remeber. Abreviations , code words dont work always.. Questions are never straight forward to correlate directly. unless you understand the process throughly , it will be hard to even to map to the right process. I had huge descriptive questions running more than a page (including the answers) but i decided to skip them to the end of the exam , but it gave rise to over 5- 8 and gave nervous moments in the end. I tried to keep the answering rate of more than 60+ questions per hour so that i could reach the 200th question in less than 3:30 hrs.. The last 30 mts were quite tense to close the narrative questins which was kept on hold, i could complete few out of them and few i just clicked randonly IT was good that i did n ot sit on such narrative and complex ones , else it would hav eaten up the precious time for answering the simpler ones.. Although i had read multiple times , 5 days before the exams, i took off from office work and gave a complete revision of all the chapters in the PMBOK and took the mock exams immediately which enhanced both the understand as well as the retention of data. although i was confident in tbe beginning and until middle, the last 1 hour were real tense to keep the question rate as well as to close the huge narrative and calculatioins .. Finally i decided to submit with just 1 mt to close, the screen became white and the results came.. The pass screen came ... IT took more than an hour to come to normal state and to be happen for crossing the big barrier of the exams.. 4 hours is really a killing time to take an exam and i did not take a break.. Finally for all the effort that was put, it paid and was a happy end .. Best of luck for other who are yet to take up the exams..

I passed my CAPM and I owe it to BrainBok! The Process and ITTO quizzes were a crucial study tool for me. One thing I think would improve the quizzes would be be ability to divide the quizzes up by Knowledge Area or Process Group. Using the Reports from the quizzes, I could focus my efforts on those areas that I am weakest and being able to select that area would help. Great job BrainBOK! I definitely recommend this study tool to anyone thinking of taking the CAPM.

Hello Erica, Congratulations! We are evaluating your suggestion very seriously. Implementing this feature is easy for us, but we need to look at some other aspects too. For example, by allowing the quiz to limit the questions to a particular domain, it may reduce the pool of options, and it may artificially inflate the scores in individual domains, and that may reduce the overall effectiveness of the tool. Once we are convinced about the value of this feature, implementing it would not take too long. Thanks a lot for your thoughtful suggestion and recommending BrainBOK. Many of the features that you see today in the application have actually been suggested by users like you. Thanks again.

I think this is one of the best tools to decode the PMBOK guide and also understand what is important to remember and know. I wish there were ITTO quizzes on specific processes instead of all of them at once. I think that would help reinforce learning while going through the PMBOK.

Hello Eni, Thanks for your positive feedback. Your suggestion has been made by a few other users as well in the past, and has been considered in detail. However we found that it reduces the effectiveness of the Quiz by limiting the number of question and answer choices. Therefore, it was put on hold. Currently, we are working on expanding our question bank for the exam. Once that is done, we will surely reconsider this request. However, it will take a while before we get to it, and may not happen in time for your exam as our top priority right now is to add new exams. In the meanwhile, I want to remind you that we also have 250+ flashcards just on ITTOs. You may find them useful as well in reinforcing the learning. But thanks for bringing up this point. It helps us to learn what our users want and channel our effort accordingly. Best regards.

Just got back from my exam and I passed. Now that I'm done with this, I will provide some feedback to you. First, the ITTO charts and flashcards are really good and useful (and worth the price in of themselves). Consider that a positive recommendation. My three suggestions are: 1) Update the "quiz" module to be able to allow a person to be able to take a quiz on a given process group or even, perhaps, a specific process, tool, technique.. 2) Please include more actual numeric exercises for the tools/techniques that require calculations in the quiz function. It would be very helpful to help with proficiency on skills like CPM, EVM, etc. 3) You need to radically increase the size of the question pool for the exams so that people aren't faced with seeing the same question time and time again. (Note: that, to me, is the greatest shortfall of this site) Anyway, thanks for your help. To others looking for value in help with test prep, I would recommend this place (with the reservations on the size of the question pool). HB, PMP

Hello Howard, Congratulations on passing the exam. Thank you for your positive recommendations and wonderful suggestions. Please see my responses below on your 3 suggestions: #1 - Coincidentally, we have received this feedback from 3 customer (including you), in the last couple months. Prior to that, only 1 customer had requested this feature in nearly 2 years. So, this seems to have become a popular request all of a sudden. We did evaluate it recently and found that though it is feasible, it would reduce the effectiveness of the Quiz module because the pool of questions and answer choices would be drastically reduced. Nonetheless, we'll still reconsider this feature request after we are done with the updates for #3 (see below). #2 - This is the first time we have received this suggestion. I'm not sure whether you realized that the quiz module is 100% automated, in the sense that questions are generated dynamically by the quiz engine (which has built-in intelligence), and are not preset by us. So we cannot add formula related questions to the Quiz module. But we have a separate dedicated exam (the Formula Challenge) just for the questions that require calculations. Even the 200-question PMP Practice Exam has quite a few questions that require calculations. Do you think we should add more questions to the formula exam? We'll really appreciate if you can give us more feedback on this point. #3 - Agreed, and we are already working on this with top priority. We will be adding many new exams in near future. Not just this, we have some more surprises coming. However, we hope our Plans page is clear in communicating what's included in the packages. For example, the PMP package includes 1 full length PMP exam (with 200 unique questions) and a 75-question Formula Challenge exam (and a bunch of other features). If you retake the exams, you'll get the same questions but in a different order. Let us know if you think we need to make the communication more clear. Again, we sincerely thank you for your suggestions. You've given us really good insights. Good luck for your future endeavors. Best regards.
      • HowardImported
Good, I'm glad to see that you will be adding more test questions to your test bank. I did understand that you had one full-length 200 question exam. I did NOT realize how easily I would recognize the questions, even when they were in a different order, when I took it a second time :) -- but being able to pull 200 questions from a 1,000 question pool would make certain that no two tests were identical. I would think that if each question were categorized with the process group and knowledge area that you'd be able to fairly easily ensure that each specific domain had the same weighting as identified by PMI. I would think that some mechanism to allow for more practice with using the formulas would be very beneficial to folks. Whether through a separate module or built in as a domain within the quiz functionality doesn't matter. I stress that this is of critical importance. Remember back when you were in grammar school and constantly practicing addition, subtraction, etc.? It took practice to gain proficiency. Remember in high school / college when you took trigonometry? You could memorize all the trigonometric identities in the world, but until you actually got practice by actually using those identities in practice, the memorization was useless. Although PMP candidates are supposed to have a serious amount of experience before even being allowed to test, a good chunk of us have calculations performed by the software we use. In an era of MS-Project(r), how many of us actually calculate float by hand? In an era of CostPoint, how many of us do stubby-pencil calculations to determine a project's EAC? Don't get me wrong, I'm not being critical and have already recommended your site to a couple of other folks in my division who are getting ready for their PMP. My comments are an attempt proffer suggestions to make your site even better.

Hello Howard, Your feedback is absolutely wonderful and positive. There's no other way to look at it. Actually it's really good to learn that you think that we should add more formula related questions. Our idea was to provide 1 or 2 questions of each type, which is likely to appear on the exam, in our 75-question formula exam. We always thought that it was sufficient, but we were wrong. We can surely create more variants of the questions to give our users more practice. We have added this to our to-do list and will work on this. We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to provide your invaluable feedback and helping us improve the tool even further. Best regards.

Hi Emily, Based on experience, folks who have scored 50-55% on our exam on their first attempt, have passed the real exam. It's just a guideline, not a guarantee though. Hi. Your comments make me feel more self-confident. Thank you! :) Actually, if someone understands hard questions in formula exam of BrainBOK, he would easily solve CAPM exam questions, too. But it might be time-consuming if someones intention for the moment is just to get CAPM. In other words, hard formula questions are out of scope for CAPM exam preparation project :). The same for the flashcards - as CAPM exam questions are referenced solely to PMBOK (according to CAPM handbook, page 16), I think it'd better BrainBOK to have 2 main different categories of flashcards: for CAPM, for PMP. Good luck and hope to meet You again :)

Hello, Tutu. I also read PMBOK 3 times, but 3rd time in parallel with BrainBOK. Let me share with You my last week prep plan (2 knowledge areas per day): - Review ITTO explorer carefully. Try to understand all ITTO interrelationships between knowledge areas. But for the exam it'd be advantage to memorize ITTOs that are unique to specific knowledge areas. For example, Facilitation Techniques TT for Develop Project Charter and Develop PM Plan only. Or Issue Log is and Output of Manage Stakeholder Engagement process only. Take note of these specific ITTOs while reviewing ITTO explorer and remember them. Besides take note of common ITTOs for different knowledge areas. But You should understand and know definition of them, for sure. - Then review flashcards of that knowledge area. In order save time avoid flashcards which do not have reference in PMBOK, as they are targeted more towards PMP exam. Flashcard reflects key points of PMBOK, do not neglect them. - In last days You can review BrainBOK formula Guide and Exam simulators. Good Luck! :) Ziya

I just passed the CAPM today - on my first attempt! I took the BrainBOK practice exam last night, and barely missed the 61% mark. I sorted my test report and identified four knowledge areas where I had scored below 60%, and this morning I reviewed those four chapters in the PMBOK for a couple of hours before the certification exam. Not only did I pass, but I received five Proficients, five Moderately Proficients, and only one Below Proficient. Of the four areas I mentioned, three were rated as Moderately Proficient and the fourth was rated as Proficient. My takeaway: even if you are like me, and prefer to self-study directly out of the PMBOK rather than use supplementary study aids, the practice exam is more than worth the fifteen dollars. Take the test, identify your strengths and especially your weaknesses, and use that to enhance your study regimen. A few notes on the test itself... 1. ITTOs are important - some like to memorize ITTO lists, others prefer to focus on understanding the logic behind the ITTOs. I say whichever method suits your learning style should work. 2. Learn the Knowledge Area / Process Group chart, and be able to put all 47 processes in the right positions in the chart. 3. Knowing the formulas and how to use them are important, but to echo some previous comments, the calculations needed for the CAPM are not quite as rigorous as the practice test. 4. Identify/understand specific tools & techniques (not just which processes use them, but what they tell you and how they're used) 5. Know Project Management terms and definitions 6. Know the types of organizational structures and what how they affect the project 7. Know the types of procurement contracts and which ones are suited to certain situations I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can come up with at the moment. Good luck to all the other test-takers, and thank you, BrainBOK!

Hello all, I know this review will sound like sunshine and BS but I'm 100% serious --- Passed my exam 6/10 I could not have done this without the aid of BrainBok--- The ITTO's are a key to the exam (both CAPM and PMP0) ~40% of the questions related to the ITTO's inputs -tools & techniques, outputs are essential. The way BrainBok laid out the information with definitions that appears as you hover the mouse over the term ---GREAT. The prep test is only good for one go as the questions will not change. On the up-side the test (Formula and CAPM or PMP will show you were your knowledge is gaped. Again great tool -- For more prep-test (full-length) check out PMStudy. To BrainBok -- Thank you for providing such a wonderful training aid. I studied hard (6-8 hrs) day for about 3 weeks --- after a PMP training class through Colorado State University. I can't thank BrainBok enough for the platform (mainly the ITTO's with the secret sauce) without BrainBok's prep-tests and information feedback relating to the PMBOK, I would not have passed my exam. Thank you Thank you Thank you, Sincerely, Cole Studebaker

I just took the PMP certification exam today and passed! I studied for 6 weeks (~5hrs/day, 6days/wk). Until a week ago, I'd used Headfirst and PMBOK 5. Read a lot of stuff on the web and took about 6 practice exams (examcentral, Oliver Lehman, Headfirst). I found BrainBOK last week as I searched for a tool to help me with ITTOs. I used it extensively for the past week and that was enough time to make a huge difference! For whatever it's worth, I took BrainBOKs full exam yesterday and made 54.9%. Was depressed until I realized it was unrealistically difficult but a great help in filling in knowledge gaps. 3 proficients, 1 moderately & 1 below proficiency (closing). Thank you!

Hello! Let me tell you a funny story :p I Bought the CAPM Practice Exam plan and attempted it. I FAILED HORRIBLY with 7 below proficient, 3 moderately proficient, and 1 proficient. Then I bought the ITTO Package and studied for about 2 weeks (just few hours daily), learned my mistakes from my last attempt, and took my CAPM exam today. I PASSED! with 5 proficient and 6 moderately proficient :) The bottom line is the real exam is A LOT easier than Brainbok practice exam! most of the questions directly ask you (Which is an input/output or which tool or technique you use in a certain process or knowledge area). I highly recommend The CAPM practice exam! it will show you your level of studying/understanding, and focus on your weak points. Thank you BrainBOK! :)

Hi Yasser, Congratulations on passing the exam! Thanks a lot for your constructive feedback and positive recommendation. While you did score 7 BP in your first attempt, your overall score was pretty close to 60%. Based on our experience so far, people who've score 55% on our exam in their first attempt have passed the real exam. This is applicable to the PMP exam too. We are in the process of overhauling all our exams as we prepare to launch new exams. We would continue to tune the exam difficulty level based on the performance of our students. Thanks again for choosing BrainBOK. We hope that the certification brings you more success. Good luck! Best regards.

Hi all, just passed my PMP exam yesterday. I can say that Brainbok has been a great help on my final preparation (I wish I had discovered this site earlier). The ITTO tool is very, very, very useful, and the mock exams were probably the best one I've found. Scoring on 70-75% in the mock exams, I've then got Proficient in all process groups except than the Closing one (moderately proficient in this) when taking the ral exam. I'v found my real exam questions in general simpler-to-similar that the brainbok's, except for some tricky calculation ones about risk management (some decision trees). This is a site that I'll no doubt suggest. Regards, Andrea

I passed the PMP exam yesterday, first try, on the 29th day since I began preparation. I scored 4 proficient and 1 moderately proficient. My study plan was to read the PMBOK5 start to finish, read Rita Mulcahy's guide start to finish completing all of the exercises, and then take all of the BrainBOK practice exams while utilizing the other BrainBOK study tools throughout the process. Having passed the exam, I feel that this plan was very effective and the exam itself felt easy relative to the preparation. The BrainBOK exams were great for review and identifying areas that required a revisit. Being able to fulfill the education requirement while taking a bunch of practice exams (which you should be doing for preparation anyway) for $99 is very efficient in terms of time and cost both, and that's not even considering the usefulness of the other study tools BrainBOK provides. If there is a better deal out there, it can't be better by much. The only drawback to this plan was not being able to submit my application to PMI until I completed the practice exams (so that the education requirement was fulfilled) which resulted in ~ 10 day lag between finishing preparation and sitting for the exam. Using the BrainBOK tools and skimming through Rita's study guide helped keep the material in the brain where it belonged rather than leaking out during this period. I would highly recommend BrainBOK to anyone looking to prepare for and pass the PMP exam.

I sat for the PMP exam on 10 April and ended up passing with 5 P's. I definitely credit brainbok for a large portion of my success. The two weeks leading up to the exam, I reviewed the ITTO's, then started a combination of practice exams and flashcards. During the review from the practice exams (usually another 2 hour event) I referenced the ITTO matrix quite heavily to help reinforce why certain answers were wrong or right. I did find the practice exams to be quite a bit harder than the actual PMP questions with a few exceptions. I ended up right around 69-71% for all the practice exams I took so don't get discouraged if you feel your score is a bit low. Thanks!

I just passed the CAPM exam - on the first try, thankfully! I have to say that the Brainbok practice resources were the best of those that I used, and I tried several. As others have noted, the Brainbok practice exam was a fair bit harder than the real test and felt pretty much like the real one stylistically. My score on the Brainbok test was in the low seventies and I passed the real test. YMMV. I noted that the language on the real test was quite plain-spoken and almost terse, more so than even the Brainbok practice exam. On most of the practice exams on the web, the language is quite flowery and obscure, so much so that I got the feeling that most of what was being tested was my ability to parse imprecise communications rather than knowledge of the subject. So again, the Brainbok test best resembled the real one. I hope somebody finds this useful. -Carl

Just passed the PMP exam yesterday. I really do recommend getting Brainbok as it helped me in multiple ways. The ITTO explorer was amazing and really helped me understand all the processes properly. The visual part of it - which is really intelligently done - really helped in learning it properly vs any other medium out there. The quizzes were a time saver vs doing a 3 hr test. The tests really do give you an insight to the exam but are a bit harder than then the test itself. However, I am just happy on how interactive it was and consider myself lucky that i chose this vs a lot of other programs out there. Dont be afraid to attack the points that you are weak at - those are the ones that really will make a difference for you in the actual exam. Thank you Brainbok! ns_

Sat for and passed my CAPM exam today. First try! Thank you so much to BrainBOK, I couldn't have done it without your resources! The practice exams, ITTO explorer and quizzes were invaluable! I supplemented my use of BrainBOK with the PMBOK 5th and Rita's CAPM prep book. I only purchased the BrainBOK suite a week ago, but in that week I absorbed SO much more than my past studying with the PMBOK and Rita's book. Honestly, I was a bit nervous going into the exam, I consistently scored in the mid-low 40s to mid-50's at best on the practice exams. Overall the practice exams were much more difficult than the actual exam, however, they prepared me so well, keep them that challenging!! Thanks again!

Wooo! I never even knew about brainbok. Even though I came across this after giving my CAPM, I think after going through all material here and the reviews I will for sure use it for my PMP preparation. That being said, I am really not sure if this is the right place to share my experience with CAPM. I will still list a brief (its long! :p) story about my expereince and how I prepared for the test. I hope it helps everyone in any capacity. Here we go ! ...... I passed my CAPM on Friday, July 17th. While booking the exam, I underestimated the material which I had to prepare for. That gave me 8 days of preparation time, which wasn't exactly convenient. I took no formal preparation course and I personally can't recommend someone against taking one. Everyone has a different way of grasping information at an effective level, so I suggest you know your own learning style better and then make a decision. I am actually tempted to say that it was more like 6 days because for the first two days I tried studying straight of the PMBOK and while it was doable, I tried looking for a better goofy book to prepare my self. I work full time as an estimator, so the only full days of preparation I had was the weekend. I used 4 days to read, practice chapter quizzes and cover the entire curriculum. My fifth day was a mixture of taking practice test (with an assistance mode, to see where I am going wrong) and my last day before the exam was making sure I covered all the important points listed on the exam guide I used (scroll down to see the ONLY resource I used). Again, I believe in utilizing my resources, so I tried looking up for an eBook on my school's e-database and with some luck I found CAPM/PMP Project Management Certification All-In-One Exam Guide, Third Edition by Joseph Phillips. Joseph did a good job while writing this book and making it an easy read for anyone. He also provides the readers with an exam stimulation software, which was very useful to somewhat prepare for the exam day. I personally found his examples and references very helpful to make sense of the concepts. Again, I cannot say that you must buy this book because I haven't utilized any other resource for my preparation. Now, while I do give due credit to Joseph's material and preparation help. I have to say that he has tried mixing PMP and CAPM in one book and that might throw of few people during the exam. His practice questions (quiz, exam simulator) are more towards scenario based (mostly). Even though he provides us with an option to choose between CAPM/PMP, his CAPM exam questions were mostly scenario based. I think using his book for PMP might be a better option to many. CAPM exam is strictly based on ITTOs ( Inputs, Tool, techniques and Outputs) and in my exam I probably had 2 - 3 scenario based questions. To add fuel to the fire, not even one question came from the ethics chapter (which sort of peeved me out, I was counting on this chapter to help boost my chances!). One every IMPORANT exam tip I would give is to make sure you understand the ITTOs and not try to memorize them. I can assure you that while you might feel confident memorizing and sitting in your comfortable study environment. Come exam time, your memorization of the ITTOs won't help much and you will start doubting your self towards the difference between the inputs and outputs. Just try and understand the ITTOs and you should be fine! Lastly, know the formulas since you can solve them easily, easy marks. To sum it up, please don't go by what others use as a preparation timeline. Everyone is on a different level and have different factors which allow them to prepare for an exam in 6 days or 2 months. Either way, your goal should be to PASS the exam. Please feel free to ask for some detailed explanation about the test or anything else which might help you prepare for it better.

I wrote my CAPM exam yesterday and was successful in passing on my first attempt! I definitely attribute the majority of my success from studying with the BrainBOK! Thank you very much BrainBOK I'm so happy I came across the program, worth every penny and I'll be back for another subscription when the time comes to write my PMP! Besides using BrainBOK I studied from Aileen Ellis CAPM EXAM Simplified as well read through the PMBOK making flash cards and such. Unlike the majority of comments I read I did NOT find my exam that heavy with the ITTO's in which I had spend the time to cover over 3000 of the quiz questions in random order <------ this is important for the exam since the exam is totally random in there knowledge areas. I would guess the exam was about 30% ITTO Although the PMBOK exams are a bit harder, the line of questioning is more along what you can expect. There are some really indepth questions that will make the most prepared people second guess themselves, perhaps many of them were the pre-exam questions that don't count. I will point out you should know the arrangement of the process groups and knowledge areas and be able to map it out on paper before you start writing your exam. Its a good idea to know your basic formulas (I wasn't asked any questions with PERT, I was surprised!) Know your CV, CPI, SV,SPI, as well # of communication channels. You should be able to do the forward and backward pass with the critical path as there are questions concerning it. Unless you have a great memory (I definitely don't) don't clog your head up with the more complicated formulas. Learn all your different type of matrix as well definitely know your models for stakeholder analysis. (power/interest, salience model , etc) I'll give one more word(s) of advice, make sure you know when you use analytical techniques, meetings and expert judgement its import to understand the difference in them and why or why not they are used. It wasn't hard to finish on time if your properly prepared. I left the test 3 times for a small break and finished in just over 2 hours. Opposite of the BrainBOK exams which I found myself pressed to finish in the 3 hours. So basically KNOW EVERTHING LOL! Thanks Again BrainBOK!

Just took my PMP yesterday and passed! 3 P's and 2 M's. BrainBOK was a huge factor in this! A fews points to note about the exam itself. I think my exam had a total of 15 questions that required calculation and most of those were for # of communication channels and finding CPI, SPI & EAC. While about 40% of the questions were paragraph format, and very wordy, I didn't find time to be much of an issue. In fact, BrainBOK's exam questions are even longer than the real thing :) If you can take a BrainBOK full practice exam in under 3 1/2 hours.. you should no problem at all getting through all of the questions. I was shocked to discover that ITTO's were not a huge factor on the exam at all and not once did the exam ask "Which of these is an input to Estimate Activty Durations?". However, I do still see the value in practicing ITTO's via BrainBOK because it reinforces the primary inputs, tools & techniques, and outputs. It seemed like my exam favored risk management, quality management, and communication/HR management. I wouldn't be surprised if 20% of the questions involved Perform Integrated Change Control.. So KNOW Perform Integrated Change Control processes VERY well. Lastly, I was surprised to find out that PMI doesn't (or didn't for me) ask questions in the format of "Which of these is NOT...?" or "All of the following EXCEPT..." These types of questions really racked my brain in training and it was a relief to not have any on the actual exam. As for preparing for the exam, as I said, strict ITTO's are great for reinforcing what each process does, uses, and produces, but don't cram on ITTO's. Instead know what each process does, and the most important thing, the ORDER of each planning process. You should be able to produce a process chart for the exam by memory and write this down on the scratch paper (I got 4 pieces) they gave you in addition to formulas. The exam will often describe or define a process and ask you which scenario (process) comes next. So it's a 2 part question; 1. figuring out what process and knowledge area they're talking about and 2. determining which scenario/process comes next. For example a question I got was something like, "You are the Project Manager at an engineering company that produces high powered robots for inspections on wind turbines. Your project team consists of 3 systems analysts, 5 mechanincal engineers, and 4 quality assurance engineers. The project team is in the process of hosting a focus group for detailing and documenting all of the necessary stakeholder requests for a large design project for a third party energy cooperative. Upon completion of this documentation, which step should the project manager recommend next?" So the question describes Collect Req's, and it's asking you to determine which answer choice describes Define Scope. PMI will give you more information than you care about. Who cares that the team works on wind turbines? Who cares that you have 4 QA engineers? It's not even relevant that you're performing this project as a seller for a 3rd party... but be careful they will try to trick you. :) Really know the 7 Basic Quality Tools because that showed up a few times for me. As an aside, it would be nice if BrainBOK had some type of Quality Management tools practice such as a section with scenario based questions asking which tool is best to use. As far as BrainBOK goes, I can't say enough about the quality of their exams, quizzes, and service in general. World class training for the PMP or CAPM. As many have pointed out, their exams are extremely difficult. DO NOT get discouraged if you're scoring in the 40-50% region for each or even all 3 of their practice exams. I never scored above 60% on either of my 3 practice exams with BrainBOK and passed with 3 Proficient's and 2 Moderately Proficient's on the real PMP exam. While some questions in BrainBOK are indicative of the exam, the answer choices on the exam should pop out easier to you and you'll be able to eliminate at least 2 incorrect answers right off the bat. The BrainBOK exams and study material really toughen you up for the real thing, and ultimately that's what you want. I left the PMP exam feeling like it wasn't all that bad and this was in large part to BrainBOK's product. Great job guys! I'll be recommending you to anyone I know taking the PMP or CAPM exams :)

I just passed my PMP exam last week and would like to thank the BrainBok team for their awesome service. I decided to use BrainBok because of their competitive pricing and the 800+ practice questions that included explanations and references. Some of the questions/answers on the practice exams were bizarre until I researched the PMBOK reference and identified my own knowledge gap. I found BrainBok's minimalist theme very useful. I disable all images and put white text on a black background while using the default browser on my Samsung Galaxy S3. Everything looked good in appearance and functioned as expected when using BrainBok. This allowed me to continue studying on my mobile device. BrainBok was the only source I listed as educational contact hours on the PMI application and PMI processed my application without an audit. I haven't tried other online services to attain the 35 contact hours required by PMI, so I can't compare BrainBok to anything else. But what I can say with absolute certainty is BrainBok gets the job done without charging an outrageous price. If you can pass all the exams (by comprehension and not memorization), you're in good shape for the PMP exam. I also read the PMBOK once and Rita Mulcahy's PMP Exam Prep twice. But the real reason why I would like to thank the BrainBok team for their awesome SERVICE is because of how responsive they were to all my feedback. I recommended a few enhancements and they consistently responded within one business day. On top of that, they actually implemented one of the enhancements within one week of receiving it, which was three days before my PMP exam! The enhancements helped out tremendously.

I successfully passed my CAPM exam today, and want to thank BrainBOK for their awesome test preparation system. I used the PMBOK of course, and "Plan B" of Rita Mulcahy's book and felt I had a good understanding before I started using this system. Notwithstanding, on practice exams I would score so poorly that I did not have confidence in my likely results on the actual test event - and with less than a week to go, I wanted to use a "tried and true" learning process to catch up quickly. I looked over why I was answering questions incorrectly, and realized it was due to my lack of understanding how the questions were being asked that was the major issue (paying attention: words like BEST or NEVER, realizing when a question was giving me a prompt to recognize when I was being asked about "which process is this" in a tangent manner, etc.). BrainBOK to the rescue! Their testing system and manner of asking questions is seamless and compares to what candidates will experience during the the actual exam. My method was to take the practice exam, then meaningfully analyze whether I had a knowledge gap or a "question understanding gap" for my incorrect answers. I mostly had the latter, but some knowledge gaps as well. For those knowledge gaps (in 2 knowledge areas), I used the BrainBOK flashcards and quizzes to brush up (as I had already used other methods to get my base and still had a deficiency). The results were surprising. The two knowledge areas I had been most worried about were my "ace cards" in the deck when I tested out today and PASSED. I am very appreciative and will be back to BrainBOK for my PMP prep. Thank you!

I did not used ITTO explorer too much but definitely it helped me to understand how data flows from one process to another. Flashcards turned to me like Lifesavers because I has used PMBOK to the minimum but as a reference book only and the Flashcards of PMBOK proved really worth to minimize the gaps between my understanding and concept of PMBOK. Quizes helped me to understand & learn the ITTOs perfectly. The ITTO questions by Brainbok are quite simple and fair enough to develop & finally mature the logic behind every Input, Tool & Technique. I really enjoyed the ITTO quizes, data flow quizes and definitely Glossory. Although I did not find any direct question on ITTO in my exam, but I understand that understanding of ITTOs was must to me to clear the exam. Really I did not remembered any ITTO. Along with Brainbok, I would like to thank the Head First PMP - authors & Edwel free online manual by Mr. Richard J Perrin. Also thanks to many of the creators of those free android apps I used for my preparations during travelling & shopping sessions with wife. With warm Regards, Sunil Attri, PMP

To Whom it May Concern, There are so many products out there around CAPM and PMP prep examination. When you read the reviews, if you are like me, you wonder the authenticity of the review. Therefore, I wanted to inform the audience that will be reading this review that I am a real person and I approve this message. I purchased the CAPM premium when I took the CAPM and passed. Now, I am preparing for the PMP exam, so I purchased the PMP premium, which I plan on passing the PMP exam. Why should you purchase Brainbok products? Well, I place the question back to you, why shouldn't you purchase Brainbok? If you are looking for a competitive advantage, then it is a no brainer (No pun intended ) As I mentioned earlier, I passed the CAPM with their product and it was worth every dollar invested. I am not telling you what I think. I am telling you what I know. To the staff at Brainbok, I would like to personally thank you for putting together a website that is truly based on growing present and future project managers, in which produce high yielding results.

What can I say, BrainBOK did it again. About 3 years ago, I discovered BrainBOK while studying for my CAPM, and successfully passed. When it came to prepping and studying for my PMP, I stuck with what I know works and resubscribed with BrainBOK. Well, yesterday i can officially call myself a PMP and I must I give credit where it is due. The flashcards are great, the exam is challenging and the quizzes are helpful to find knowledge gaps. Thanks again for the help. Paul

If you are looking for a great study aid to pass the PMP, I wholeheartedly recommend BrainBok. It is a superior product that distills and refines not just the content that you need to know for the PMP, but also your study focus. BrainBok makes you a better student through attention and direction in just the right places. The ITTO Explorer presents disparate PMBOK information in an immediately accessible way. It's great to be able to jump from one process to another and see the data flow between processes. I would often go from the BrainBok ITTO Explorer, back to the PMBOK to reinforce concepts and knowledge. This made learning less time consuming and allowed me to retain and understand the linkages between the processes more effectively. It is critical to understand process flow for the exam, and BrainBok gives the student a big boost--if the student puts in the work. BrainBok's flashcards are a powerful, powerful asset. The "hard" and "commonly confused concepts" flashcards help enormously to unkink the knots of understanding between concepts that, unfortunately, phonetically, sound very similar. Using the flashcards was like retraining my brain to "hear" the definitions and distinctions in a different way. Quizzes are another great tool that the student can use as warm-ups and memory boosters to keep knowledge retention fresh and stable. I would often take a quiz while commuting. The quiz feature (and the flashcards) have the added bonus of allowing the student to focus on a particular knowledge area, as the student identifies knowledge gaps. The BrainBok exams are superlative. The three main PMP simulation exams are rated "hard" and that's a good thing. While there are some great PMP mock exams out there, and they are of benefit for building confidence (and knowledge), the BrainBok exams can give a practiced student a decent gauge as to how they might perform on the actual PMP. Just like the actual test, 25 random questions will be unscored and sprinkled throughout. Yes, the questions are hard, with multiple answers seeming to be correct. And, yes, it can be challenging to push through a BrainBok exam, but the exams do the job that they're meant to do.They prepare the student for the possible adversity of exam day and give the student a taste of what to expect. I think it's important to simulate real test difficulty as closely as possible. In my case, the actual PMP was harder than any sample exam I took, even harder than BrainBok. But, BrainBok came the closest. Last, but certainly not least, the BrainBok support staff were quick, detailed and courteous in their responses to my questions. They were encouraging, clear and realistic. They answered my most basic questions with respect. Someone was always home to provide help. BrainBok is a tool that is expertly crafted for the serious student to pass the PMP. It is the perfect capstone to a methodical study plan to pass the PMP. I highly recommend BrainBok, without reservation, to all PMP aspirants. Best wishes, Lloyd

I passed PMP last week and I have to say that Bainbok subscription was very very instrumental in my clearing the exam apart from Rita Mulcahy's book. These are the only 2 sources I used apart from the ocassional Google search and a few youtube videos to clarify some of the concepts. I did not even read the PMBOK end to end because almost all of it got covered in ITTO/flashcards - which I used profusely apart from the brainbok exams. I prepped for 2.5 months and was ready to go. So thank you so very much Brainbok!

I found this training platform by chance. I had wasted my money on another well reputed 'platform/trainer' for my CAPM studies and learning hours. Total waste of time watching 24hours of endless videos with no interaction. I realised I was in a spin only four days out from the CAPM exam when I struggled to complete their 1x only practise exam of 60 questions. I found BrainBok and purchased just the 3x CAPM study exams immediately as that was all the time I had left to cover. These were fabulous as they pointed out the big holes I had in my development. Having the reference page numbers at the buttom of the answers and the explanation was just invaluable for me. I scrapped through the real exam, which is not my style but without the BrainBok there is just no way I was going to get a pass. I'm going to now purchase the full premium package for CAPM and learn it properly. Talk about a backward progression but the morale of the story is, start here and you will be absolutely fine. Lesson learned almost the hard way for me...... Thanks a bunch BrainBok, what an excellent product to learn quite a complex methodology.

Great "visual" tool of ITTO... I really this BrainBOK site because it is a "visual aid" to show one-level up and down to any “I” and “O” item. Also, description of an I-T-T-O term will pop when mouse cursor points to it which I use this function like a quiz to test my understanding of a term. I would agree this tool was an investment of time and money that was very worth it. To start, I would suggest reading the PMBOK thoroughly from cover to cover and taking notes just to get acclimated with the content and to get your mind set for what the PMP expects from you. I did that using an e-book copy of 5th edition PMBOK, MS OneNote, and supplemented some of my early lessons using another site www.pmtraining.com to learn foundational content and use their "learn mode" feature to take exams and get the corrected answers right away. That was a feature Brainbok did not have that was useful when you're in that 1st phase of learning PMBOK content. When I felt I needed to move past knowledge of process groups and knowledge areas deeper into all ITTO and really understand how data flows, Brainbok is what will give someone the elevated content and deeper understanding that will get you ready to pass the test. The ITTO Explorer is awesome. The Mastery Mode exams, again awesome. The quiz content is targeted and very helpful. I wish I found and used BrainBok sooner, I could have sat for the test much earlier. My study plan was about 7 weeks, and I did pass the PMP exam on 9/2/16 and attribute the passing grade more to Brainbok. I think this tool was well worth it!

I passed the CAPM last weekend on my first attempt and know that I owe a lot of that to the tests, quizzes and ITTO explorer on this site! I also used Rita Mulcahy's book and the PMBOK. And while those were excellent in giving me the foundation of knowledge that I needed, taking the practice tests and quizzes helped me target my weak areas. For what it's worth, I found that the exam on Brainbok was much more difficult than my actual test, but also most similar to the types of questions that I had to answer compared to other sample questions from other sites. Also, I did reach out to customer service and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they got back to me. Great product and excellent service! I will be back when I apply for the PMP in a few years. Thanks again to BrainBOK for another successful exam result - last year you helped me prepare for my CAPM - this year I looped back and snagged my PMP yesterday! This year I was able to "take my time" and study for a full 90 days (a change from last year when I only discovered you two weeks before my exam)! What I really like about your subscription program is the variety of ways to learn new concepts, allow them to gel and understand how they are used, and then try those out for myself using the software. Your full 200 question exams allow a person not only to test their knowledge, but their endurance as well. This is important - I learned the best "model" for me to sit for and concentrate on an exam of such a length; and I used Mastery Mode to smooth my rough edges of process understanding within which I had knowledge gaps. I would be remiss if I did not mention the ITTO simulator tool. If there is a student out there that has doubted the value of this tool - do yourself a favor and type in something like "change requests" - then sit back and be amazed as the interrelationships between processes, tools and techniques come alive. It makes the knowledge interactive and "lock in" with greater depth and speed - during the exam yesterday, I swear the answers were *jumping off the page* at me. I could not have been more pleased with my proficiency scores. Finally, a word about responsiveness of the team there. I had questions - 3 or 4 over the months. I always got prompt replies to my emails, and their tone was of joint discovery, of constant learning appreciation, and respect for me as a customer and my request for an answer. I used other study materials and contacted other authors - from those study sources most customer service emails were ignored (not all - but most) - but BrainBOK *will absolutely* return your emailed questions, and that's important. Happy New Year, and thanks again!

I took my CAPM yesterday and passed first try. If I had not discovered Brainbok I would have been in trouble with the ITTO`s. I used the all in one PMP/CAPM study guide and it was great, it provided a fantastic base. BUT I found I kept coming up short in my ITTO memorization (I hate memorizing). So 2!!! days before my exam, I discovered Brainbok and the ITTO explorer. It saved my exam. It allows you to easily drill down on the components of all the ITTO's in real time without flipping through a reference manual to look things up. It gives examples and allows you to internalize and understand the why's of things. Which definitely helps with the tricky exam questions! If I had more time to use the Brainbok tools I would have probably found the exam a lot easier. As it is, those 2 days with the Brainbok tools and 1 practice exam was precious. Thank you!

I am here to report to you that I just passed my PMP exam yesterday with 2 Ps and 3 MPs. Brainbok helped me tremendously in this journey. I did extensive preparation, I read PMBOK, Rita's book along with 4000 sample mock exams and of course BrainBok. The exam however, was EXTREMELY difficult (I got 65%, 68% and 87% on brainbok exams and I thought they were difficult but that I actual exam was either the same or more difficult.) During my preparation, I was able to complete 200 questions in less than 3 hours, however, during the actual exam I nearly finished it. It was also very disproportional. I counted 18 direct questions on steps to make a change (most were tedious), 25 questions on risk management, 4 PERT questions (Beta distribution calculations, these were among 20 easy questions I encountered) , 8 questions on schedule compression (fast track, crash) and 5 questions on SPI/CPI and project forcast. I was not expecting that level of difficulty but I guess that is the reason we take the exam. I was also expecting more diverse exam but to me it came down to risk management, change management and schedule management. I also felt like whomever designed the questions were trying to intentionally confuse you with term like "previously unknown stakeholder" rather than challenge your knowledge base. Regardless, I am glad it is done. My recommendations: 1. Make sure you learn the concepts rather that memorizing ITTOs. They were maybe 2-3 direct questions on ITTO and believe me they were NOT as straight forward as " what are tools for Quality Control". 2. BrainBok has the best ITTO tool ever. You will not find this anywhere else. Make sure to navigate through it everyday and be comfortable with it before taking the exam. 3. Learn change control and the steps to make a change. 4. know your risk management. 5. know your schedule management. 6. The best and easiest part of the exam was EXECUTION for me. It also has the most questions. If you could get 90% above on execution questions (\which is very doable) you have a much easier route to pass the exam. Best of luck to everyone and thanks again Brainbok.

I passed the CAPM exam yesterday (passed with 'Above Target' and I want to thank you for this great product. I started studying for this exam 4 months with low intensity (on and off) using Rita's guide but the last 2-3 weeks was with full intensity using primarily Brainbok and supplment with Rita's guide. I did not use PMBOK at all during the studying. I can say for sure that using Rita's guide only would have resulted in a fail and that Brainbok was the difference between a pass and a fail. My advice for anyone wishing to do the CAPM is to get Brainbok and do as many practice questions as you can. Brainbok's practice quizzes and exams are much more difficult than any questions I encountered on the exam. As a comparison, I managed to get 65-75% in the Brainbok exams. The quizzes help you get a good understanding of the terms, inputs/outputs and the formulas you use in the exam. My recommendations for people looking to do the CAPM exam: 1. Be disciplined with your studying. Whether you want to do the exam in a month, 3 months or 6 month, you must have a goal on how much material you want to cover. 2. Recognize the gaps in your knowledge. The good thing about Brainbok is that the exam results will tell you the gaps in your knowledge. If you scored poorly in any areas, it tells you and you know these areas are the ones you should work on. Don't waste your time spending excessive time in areas you do well in. 3. Know the inputs, outputs and processes. The good thing about the CAPM exam is that it is all theory and you can get around this by understanding the inputs. Brainbok helps you with that they provide explanations on answers. There is way too much information in the PMBOK to memorize. The information in PMBOK for the most part is based on common sense and can be learned without memorization if you understand 'why' certain things go together. My other suggestion is to have a specific project in your line of work when answering questions. This will help you answer questions as you can relate the questions to the project. 4. Do as many practice questions as you can. You only get better with practice and experience. 5. Understand the earned value management area. While you don't need to know this area to pass, everyone point counts. You might need to memorize these formulas but still try to understand why these formulas are arranged a certain way. Luckily, Brainbok has a practice exam dedicated to math type questions in the exam. Again, Brainbok's questions are much more difficult than the actual exam. My parting thoughts are that if I decide to do the PMP in the future, I will definitely use Brainbok to study for the exam. Thanks again!

I started using Brainbok two weeks before my CAPM exam, after not being able to find any good study guides and practice exams. Don't be like me, I finished my class 6 months before I took the exam and chose to put off studying until two weeks before. I was EXTREMELY unprepared and had almost accepted defeat. ALMOST. Thanks to Brainbok I was over prepared and passed my exam, without a problem. The ITTO explorer was extremely helpful. I think that the practice exam questions here are purposely more difficult than the ones on the test so that you are made to go back and REALLY understand what you need to know. I recommended this to my friend who, also, passed her exam and will recommend this to anyone who plans on taking it in the future!

BrainBok Premium PMP subscription was the only resource I used apart form the PMBOK Guide. I passed my exam today with Above Target in all categories. Unless you’re new to Project Management or it’s been a while, this deal has everything you need to sharpen your knowledge base and pass the exam. With multiple full length, and very similar, practice exams, quizzes, flash cards there is something for every aspect. The absolute best part in my opinion is the explanation and page reference for every exam question for further review when needed. I would recommend this as the main tool for anyone looking to take the PMP exam. Thank you all very much for helping me achieve this goal.

I found out about brain bok just 15 days before my exam, I did the mock exam 50 questions and realized the value of the questions they provided. Using Brain Bok and running the mock exams and reviewing the questions filled in a lot of gaps in knowledge I had from reading the PMBOK from cover to cover. it also helps that the questions were current and based on the PMBOK 6. I Passed the exam with above target results and am sure Brain Bok Plained a role in it.

PMBOK Guide and Brainbok Premium subscription were the only things I used to pass my PMP exam. The ITTO tool is neat and quite innovative, the Quizzes (ITTO, Processes and Glossary) are extremely useful and the mock exams invaluable; well designed to get a feel for the real thing, if slightly harder. 'Mastery Mode' is great in reviewing the marked and wrong questions and keep retrying them to get the concepts right. Feedback is available on questions I was unsure why I got wrong and I even got responses on my feedback! All in all, a great system to acquire the required skills to ace the exam. Not to mention the PDC hours without having to sit through classes. A small caveat, if one doesn't have proper Project Management experience under the belt it may be helpful to use other sources to augment the study as there are no 'lessons' that some prefer. I passed Above Target across the board in exactly 36 days and most definitely could not have done it without BrainBok. Thanks!

Congratulations, Aftab! Thank you for an awesome review and highly encouraging comments! It's also special because you managed to pass in such a short time frame using just BrainBOK to complement the PMBOK. It's feels great to be a small part of your success. Thanks for putting faith in us and giving us this opportunity. We wish you great success in your career ahead! P.S.: We are assuming you meant to say PDU / Contact Hours when you said PDC Hours.

I just passed the CAPM exam with an Above Target in all areas. I can definitely say that Brainbok was crucial to that. I started off completely new to project management in general, only taking an introductory course before deciding to take the CAPM exam. From the study guide, to the ITTO tool, the flashcards, and all the practice questions and exams, this became one of my main sources of study materials and tools. I also purchased a few courses from Udemy so that I could listen to lectures on the content, and bought the Professional Pocket Prep for the CAPM app for mobile as another source of practice questions. I purchased Rita’s book too, but ended up not using it past the first few chapters, just because I already had so many resources and not a lot of time before the exam date. I definitely think Brainbok's practice exams, quizzes, and flashcards were all key to my learning the material. Like other reviews said, the questions in the Brainbok practice exa ms were at a much higher difficulty level, which was great since it required me to go back and really understand the "why" behind the correct answer choices. Each question had an explanation for the correct answer along with the relevant PMBOK page numbers. I did notice that a few questions that I decided to look up in the PMBOK directed me to the wrong page numbers, but they were generally only off by a page or two so it wasn't hard to adjust. Other things I did to study: I used the ITTO tool to help me visualize the connections between processes and unique ITTOs better (this too has page numbers if you need them), the study guide to fill in missing info, and the separate Udemy lectures that I had purchased to help reinforce the knowledge I was gaining. I also did practice questions from the Pocket Prep app daily. 2 days before my exam, I found a Udemy course that focused on the math aspects of the CAPM. I sped through that to understand the formulas and did those practice qu izzes and found that it really helped me “get” EVM, NPV, IRR, and the Procurement Contract types. If I learned anything through this whole process, it’s that practice questions (and getting many of them wrong) were the key to my success. My recommendation is to do as many as you can, and use the available resources to learn what the right answer is, and why it is the right answer. Brainbok’s premium offering really helps achieve this goal. I highly recommend Brainbok for studying for the CAPM. If I decide to take the PMP later, I will definitely be back!
